![]() If you want to play multiplayer most likely you need to do it via LAN as the old Internet Multiplayer is no longer supported. But you defenatly want the stock systems and extra ships and mods enable as they give the many canon ships for quick battle. You might want to uncheck them to see if it solves the crashes. Maybe because the 2nd has more mutators activated by default. It also seems that the first Kobajashi Maru mod crashes less then the 2nd. after that you can uncheck the stuff on the stbc.exe again. You should then be able to start the game again and pick a resolution that works. Note: I use german language so the exact labeling might differ. Check the box for resolution 640x480 and deactivate fullscreen optimization and choose 16 bit colors. Solution: right click on the stbc.exe (application) in your gog galaxy/games/Star Trek Bridge Commander folder (or whereever you installed it). After that you cannot start the game to adjust the resolution. It also happens if you choose a resolution in game that is higher then your windows screen resolution. ![]() This happens if the vanilla game default resolution setting or the kobajashi maru screen resolution is not supported by your screen. "Creation failed: Desired fullscreen display mode not supported" You find it in graphics, scroll down to: "alternate resolutions". The 2nd one is the latest and includes a bit more stuff, especially a galaxy map to freely move and the 1080p resolution. ![]() It also comes with more options like seatbelts, warp core ejection, targeting plasma streams etc. The main benefits of the mod are much more canon ships for quick battle and multiplayer. There are 2 versions of the Kobajashi Maru mod: ![]() So having an high end pc might still be an advantage to the old game.
